Taking a WoW Leave of Absence

Hello All,

I unfortunately have to inform you all that I am leaving WoW for a while. I do not make this decision lightly as I have greatly enjoyed this game, but even more so the people and the community and Christian fellowship aspects of this guild. Although I do not know many of you well, and indeed some of you through only the text I see on screen, I have made many friends in this guild and I very much enjoy getting to know all of you.

The reason I must quit for a while is that I recently found out I was accepted to Respiratory Therapy School in Kamloops, B.C. (Canada). This program is generally 2 years of school and a full year of clinical (Hospital training); however, thanks to my Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, I am able to jump into the second year by taking several distance education courses. I just began the last course, which I must finish before school starts in September, while at the same time maintaining a full-time job. The program itself is intense as well. Although being accepted to this program was exciting, I knew all along that if I was accepted, it would require me to critically evaluate the amount of time I can spend playing WoW.

If this sounds like I am leaving for good, do not fret! I fully intend to come back. I am not sure when exactly, I may find my course easy and will be back in a few weeks time, or I may only be able to make it back in the fall, and then perhaps only for one instance every week or two. But I will return; I mean I’ve only done BRD and there are all kinds of instances and Raids I have yet to do. Currently my subscription ends on June 13, but my Characters will remain as they are and in the guild waiting for me to return. Also, I will be up for an instance run on Thursday (June 8th) evening, BRD again, or BRS, scholo, strat, etc. so let me know if you are up for something like that.

I will continue to check the forums. But if anyone wants to e-mail me, feel free, dgoertzen@gmail.com.

Wow! Congratulations on (being presented with and) taking such a great opportunity! Although I didn't get to know you well (I've only seen/talked to you a few times), your presence will be missed. Don't worry about us, we'll get by, but we'll be anticipating your return when time allows. Don't rush it - the classes are far more important than the game.

Just remember to come back to the forums and let us know how you're doing, what's new, etc, etc.

You will be missed Dave, but I am very happy for you! I will keep you in my prayers, sounds like it's going to be a very busy time for you, especially with you jumping into the middle of a program.

Keep in touch Dave.

Bear in mind that The Forgiven aren't just guys and girls who play WoW... We are people who have been forgiven by Christ.

You can stop playing WoW and we will miss seeing you on, but you really can't stop being a Forgiven. :D

God bless and support you as you move through this challenging but hopefully exciting phase of your life. We <3 you and eagerly wait for news of God's hand in your life.

Thanks for posting Dave, after we talked last night, I was again reminded how much bigger this "WoW" thing is, it expands past a game into relationship. We will keep your spot warm :)

Congratulations Dave:) I will be praying that the program is easy for you to manage and you do well in it. Be sure to stop by and keep us updated on how things are going, either on the forums, or on teamspeak. Thanks for sharing your good news with us:)

I'm sad to see you leaving, Dave. You and I began questing together early on... even before joining The Forgiven. Meshach won't know what to do without you by his side!

I applaud you for your discipline. You are taking an important step in your life. May God bless you and your family as you seek His will in your life. I look forward to seeing you again online!

Todd (Meshach, Shadraach, and AbedNego)

There have been a couple people that are taking a leave of absence from WoW. I hope this isn't catching on like the flu. lol. I had personally thought about it myself as well, but haven't come to a conclusion on it yet. I do wish ya the best of luck however with school. Not only myself, but all of us do wish you the best of luck. We look forward to hearing how your new school work is going so please keep us updated.

Take care and God bless,

Chris

Dave:

It's be a lot of fun questing with you over the past several months, watching Mailliwivad first pass Jaid and then Weeamber and now running BRD with him and Wend ;) You will be missed but truly life and your future are more important than the game. I'll be looking forward to you popping in TS or on the forums!!
