I have heard rumours recently about removing twinks from WoW. I was curious and am eager to know if this statement is true. That people like me, who have spent time on farming money and recieving loot which is the best for our class at our level and enchanting those pieces of armour, spending several hundred's of gold. I myself have spent around 400g-500g on my level 19 rogue to make him ultimate. And now all this dedication to one of my characters is about to go to waste, becuase some people cant handle being beaten. Both factions have twinks meaning both sides have an equal chance of joining other characters which happen to be twinks in a BG. The point of the game is not to stay at level 19 or 29 for the rest of you characters life in level 10-19 BG or 20-29 BG to pvp, but people like me who already have two level 60's or some who have one level 60 find it more fun pvping at this level becuase the joy at level 60 is somewhat fading for us. So i dont see why you people want to ruin our lives as twinks.

Per Vaneras:

We will not be removing twinks from the game, but we will introduce a matching system to pair up players more fairly in the battlegrounds. This means that twinks will be more likely to meet other equally geared twinks as opponents in the battlegrounds, whereas more regular geared players will be more likely to meet opponents geared similarly to themselves.

I have heard rumours recently about removing twinks from WoW. I was curious and am eager to know if this statement is true.

What I've heard is that twinks will still be allowed but battlegrounds will be evened up so that twinks will go up against twinks.

I think this is a great solution. I can understand twinking against mobs because it's less fun to fight them the third, fourth time around. But not sure where the fun comes in on beating up on someone's first character who hasn't had the chance to farm for 400g or for some even 1g.

Twinking is done for one of two reasons: To build your self-esteem by "pwning" people who don't stand a chance against you based solely on inferior gear... or to stand up against others who twink.

I, personally, am the latter. I have a level 19 "twink-hunter" (who also happens to be a hunter by class), and a level 19 priest, who does nothing except flaunt the utter unkillability of priests in the 10-19 bracket, and run flags like no other class at any level in the game can.

Personally, this change makes me happy. My twink-hunter will have an easier job finding twinks to kite, and my priest will be able to disgruntle the pathetic attempts of even more 800g lvl 19 rogues to stop him from carrying away their flag.

It really is amazing though...

PW:Shield = No serious burst damage threats
Renew = No serious damage over time threats
Psychic scream = No melee threats of speed loss
Dispel Magic Spam = No ranged threats of speed loss
Trinket = Greatly lessens fear/polymorph threats
Inner Fire = Armor capacity slightly better than leather
Blackout = Stun capability

Not to gloat or anything. It's just amazing that priests at level 19 are relatively better tanks than warriors at 60. That's all I suppose.

To summarize, I do think that this is a good idea overall, though I can understand how it will upset those who earnestly worked on their character, especially those at 60 with a long raiding history behind them. The incentive to obtain PvP and raiding gear for BGs will be greatly lessened, as there will no longer be anything you can really do to increase your effectiveness against the enemy - it only scales.
