Since a bunch of people have been asking me about Second Life, here's a mini starting guide. My username is Roswenthe Aluveaux

Second Life is a massively multiplayer 3d online community, sorta like the Sims with no limits. It's free to play, and you can earn money in it (USD), but it's difficult. It has a real economy that mirrors the IRL one. People play from all over the world, and there is everything from live music events to DJs to roleplaying to fighting games. You can customize your avatar any way you like, but it often costs money, called lindens, in game. You can earn lindens in various ways, or you can buy them with real money. It is for adults, ages 18 and up.
The best way to get around is to use search (bottom center). A good method in that is the "Events" tab. If you use the dropdown box and hit "Search", it will show you the events in that category. A good one to try is "Education", and there's lots of free classes, especially for newbies.
