The wife submitting

Excellent advice. I wish everyone could read your counsel before they were married. Oh, the problems that would be avoided! I am a romantic at heart and I firmly believe, and have seen with my very own eyes, deep, abiding, passionate love will last a lifetime when God's principles are followed.

But let's say that we have already rushed. There are difficulties. We know the basis of God's teaching for marriage if for husbands to love their wives and for the wife to submit and reverence her husband. Only God can change a person. Therefore, there is nothing we can do to change our mate. So I am having difficulty because my husband is not loving me...what do I do? Or, if I were a husband, where do I begin to get my wives reverence and willingness to submit? Yes, God can perform miracles for this couple, but more often than not, He likes us to work! They have prayed for God's wisdom...what are the tools and techniques He will provide?
 
This thread has really intrigued me. I do not know much about Dr. Phil. Therefore, I am not endorsing him. However, I read an article by him some time ago, he was answering questions on the hearts of women. He said for a woman to never marry a man that is not willing to scale the highest mountain, swim the deepest ocean, walk around the world, and climb any barriers to be with her. That makes sense! Considering that we are to submit to our husbands, as it has been stated here, we must trust them with our very lives. In order to do that, I think we have to be secure in the fact that they love and care for us! A man willing to do all those things, must care! For men, I think they need to be cautious not to marry a woman does not think they are the greatest thing since chocolate! Sadly, I see couples who are engaged and the woman is constantly belittling the man and wanting to change him. To me, this says from the get-go, she has no respect for him and that can only worsen as time goes by. It is much better to be lonely and single, than married and miserable! A good, Christ centered marraiage can be one of the sweetest, blessed, most wonderful gifts from God.
