Hey everyone! If you love SteamTonks (and winning gold) as much as I do - you're going to want to be in this tournament!
I am hosting the first Tonk Wars tournament on March 22, 2008 at 12 noon (Server Time).
When: Saturday, March 22nd
Where: Ravenholdt Manor, north of Durnholde Keep in the Hillsbrad Foothills. See below for directions*
To enter: Pst me or my assistant, Cryøgenic, anytime or post on this thread to sign up.
You may whisper the following people to sign up:
Flamethrøwer, Redletters, Likeminded, Cryøgenic, Truevision, and Silentfoe. These are me and my roommate's alts.
Entry fee: 5g, in-game mail or trade to Flamethrøwer only!
Winnings: Based on amount of entries:
1st prize - 60% of entry fees
2nd prize - 20% of entry fees
3rd prize - 10% of entry fees
4th prize - A pat on the back, courtesy of Treehouse himself!
***The remaining 10% of fees collected will be donated to the guild bank***
You may also enter a drawing to win an all-expenses paid trip to the romantic Theramore Inn! You and a guest will fly round trip to beautiful Menethil Harbor. There, you will enjoy a fun-filled cruise to Theramore Isle and dine at the Theramore Inn, where you will enjoy a 7 day 6 night stay in one of their luxurious vacation suites. All courtesy of Flame's Tonk Wars!
Rules and regulations:
1. Bring your own Steam Tonk Controller. Tonks will NOT be provided at the tournament. Cryøgenic and I are both willing and able to make Tonks, and will be happy to make them for anyone who provides materials (3 mithril bars and one gold bar).
2. Sign up ahead of time. No entries will be taken after March 21st at midnight Server Time.
3. All entry fees must be collected at the time you sign up.
4. You must be at the tournament on time and ready to play. You will play when your name is called, and should be ready to play at any time.
5. Matches will be anywhere from one versus one to a ten-man free-for-all, depending on the battleground. The last Tonk standing wins. The winners will advance to the next round, the losers are out of the tournament.
6. Cryøgenic and myself will be referees. You will know us by our gnomish good looks and the large green name tags above our heads. We have final say on all matters relating to the tournament.
7. A Tonk only has a certain range in which it can be used. These ranges will be shown for you at the beginning of each match. On most maps, the tonk can drive anywhere within the boundaries. IF YOUR TONK LEAVES IT'S RANGE IT WILL DIE. It is up to you to know the controllable range of your tonk and avoid self-destruction. If your tonk dies for any reason, you are out of the match. Special consideration will not be given to those who do not know how to handle their Tonks.
8. ONE practice round will be available at the request of all parties before a match begins. Otherwise, practice before you get there.
9. One Tonk may be entered PER ACCOUNT (no person may enter two toons into the tournament).
10. No one is allowed within the playing area during a match. No purposeful obstruction of a player's view of the battleground will be tolerated.
11. Special consideration may be given to those who accidentally disconnect during a match. Purposeful disconnecting to avoid losing a match is grounds for disqualification and suspension from future matches.
12. Players may not reset their Tonk after they have been eliminated from a match. The referees will be watching who's Tonk is killed, as the player is stunned for a few seconds after it dies. When someone's eliminated, the referee will say his name in chat.
All rules subject to change without notice, up to and including the day of the event.
Praise God and pass the ammunition!
Directions to the March 11th tournament:
