Totally unrelated to WoW -- Music

I like to listen to music on my computer (via headphones) at work, so I am always on the prowl for sites that offer streaming music. Some friends of mine recently directed me to a very interesting website called Pandora. It allows you to search for an artist, and it will play music from that artist, and music stylistically similar. You can vote on each song played, and tell it not not play this type of song again if you so choose. I have only just started playing around with it, but it looks rather promising.

Give it a go, and let me know what you think of it?

Edit: I just signed up, and I am afraid to say that they claim the site can only be offered within the US. :( They claim they are working on getting the rights to play music for people in other countries. Sorry about that, didn't mean to post a site our Canadian brethren can't enjoy :(

This site seems to be good:) I am hearing christian artists that I haven't before. I just put in that I liked music by Third Day, and it has gone and pulled up other christian artist's music like theirs. Very nice. Thanks for the link Mike:)

Just be aware that Pandora categorizes music stylistically, and will pull up music that is similar, or that it thinks you will enjoy, regardless of content. What I mean is that you're going to get secular music as well as christian.
 
Ah. Thankee:) I will use my clicky mouse of powa to click out secular ones if it tries to foist them on me:)

Yep, though you can at least train it... which is more than I can say for other sites, like Yahoo's. Not sure that Live365's rating system had much effect on songs you got either.
 
Hopefully though, if you see a secular band amongst the Christian ones, you'll remember who it was and who was with it, so you can point your unsaved friends to similar music to what they like --- and hopefully Christian songs show up amongst the secular ones!

I picked Ted Nugent as my artist...and although I have most of his CDs...I've heard songs by other people that I really like and have never heard before...thanks faust...

Yeah I found a number of artists today that I have never heard of before, the site's really impressed me as well. Glad you liked it as much as me. :)
