Due to lack of interest and volunteers to lead a Tribe of Judah Champions Online supergroup after former staff stepped down, the CO chapter has been closed.

The Champions Online Chapter Forums have been archived and are still available for viewing (but closed to new posts) here.

If there is sufficient interest to re-open the chapter and if a Tribe of Judah member is willing to lead the chapter, we will explore re-opening the chapter and creating a new Tribe of Judah Champions Online supergroup.

I'm not exactly sure why the player base dropped off so quickly. There was considerable interest in the game during beta and launch, but, based on what I've read, activity plummeted after the first month after retail release.

On our side, Keero stepped down from the Chapter Leader position to focus on school. ewoksrule took on the mantle of Chapter Leader for a brief period, but stepped down when he canceled his subscription and focused his attention on Aion. After that, no one else expressed an interest in taking over as Chapter Leader before the deadline expired (and even since).

It's a bummer, but it happens sometimes. We (Tribe of Judah staff) make our best efforts to help a chapter succeed, but sometimes it's not up to us. There are a number of variables, including precipitous drops in subscription numbers.
 
That's too bad. I just played a few hours for the first time during the free Halloween weekend promotion. Granted I only made it to level 8, but I thought it was pretty cool. I've had thoughts about possibly picking up the game this winter; not much outdoor activities take place in Fargo during with frozen winter months, lol. The one thing it did for me though, was to make me really want to reactivate CoH/CoV but so far I'm holding off - I don't want to pay any monthly subscriptions right now. Hooray for TF2!!!

I know Aion sucked up a few GW people. It's like a giant black hole :p

I'm too cheap to pay a monthly fee.... er, I mean I'm a good steward :)
