Tuesday 10-4 Plans

I am trying to get a group together Tuesday (6:30pm Central to 10:30pm Central) to farm Rago Kindlerock in hopes of getting another Rago's Flame Staff. He's not the only good boss, Tanzit Razorstone (the axe) and can't remember warrior boss with great sword.........all of them are on this run.

I have done this seven times in two nights so I know the way exactly. You need 2 Monks, 2 Nukers, and one Warrior with stances. A Necro (done it with both battery Necros and minion masters) is a great addition to this group but is not mandatory.

What we will do is farm the Final Assault quest without ever finishing the quest. We will pick up a dwarf named Budger Blackpowder who is crucial to our group. He gives us dwarven powderkegs (he has them strapped to his back). We are able to blow open doors that wont open with a master gear.

The Warrior carries a powderkeg into battle with him. He is truly a sponge here. The keg aggros the baddies and keeps them off our casters. The Warrior just cycles between stances to aid the Monks in keeping him alive. The only time the Warrior puts down the keg and fights is when only the bosses are left. It works.

The last boss we kill will be Rago Kindlerock. When he dies....and he dies surprisingly easy, then we map back to War Camp and do it again. It does not take an inordinate amount of time.

I have seen the flame staff drop twice in my seven runs. The other guy that got it last time sold it for 90k AND a green bow AND a green shield.

Those prices won't stay up there for long as more folks figure this out. Lets go for it.

If we get a full 8 man team that would be great. I am not greedy for drops.

If it were later, I'd be there without a doubt. I will try to come, but that is dinnertime for our family. :( I desperately want a Rago's Staff. Not to sell, but for Rebekah.

I will join you guys as soon as I get back from a meeting tonight. (probably around 5pm PST) I have a Monk, Nuker, and Tank all in warcamp, so I can backup whatever spaces you have available.

Gwen is a fire nuker, so she would love the addition to her arsenal.

We made two Rago runs tonight. A great group of SoE guys makes this so enjoyable. Two of our guys got their first green items. I got a Rago's Flame Wand (not staff) on the second run. I sold it in War Camp for 60k within minutes.

Pastori, even though you missed the fun tonight, I now have three different green hammers for you to choose from. Or you can have all three and put them in different weapon sets for different occasions.

I still intend to do this again on Tuesday between 6:30 and 10:30pm central. If you have no experience we will tell you what to do. Its really very simple. The only requirement is that you have your character at Deldrimor War Camp. Any characters are welcome. Our only restriction is that we can fit just eight in our party.

Yeah that was a great time tonight, Thanks so much for showing me how its done Halonic. It was a lot of fun to be with guildies and see em get good drops.

That was great last night. I got my first 2 green items (Yakslapper and Brimstone). I will be on a little late tonight again, but wouldn't mind making another run or 2 if we are still going when I get on.

Also, to Halonic's comment, max is 8, but we did just fine with 7 on the first and pretty good with only 6 on the second run.

I'd love to be in on this, I've farmed SF and haven't gotten any green items, plus its always fun to group with some fellow guild members

Well, Tuesday's run was not quite the rousing success that Monday was. We did complete 1 run on Rago, but it wasn't a smooth journey.

We had 5 SoE members and 3 PuG people. The key to our tactic for farming is the tank. A good tank equipped with protective stances is key. We didn't prep our tank to request stances and she kept training everything right into the group. We also had the pick-up monk leave/drop part way through.

Nukers, healers and batteries are all pretty straight forward, but if we take a pick-up tank, we need to be sure to talk through tactics and skill selection before starting.

Also, I didn't notice Gordac Fleshweaver or Korvald Willcrusher on our run. GuildWiki says Gordac is "at the end of the path below the bridge." Korvald is "during Noble Intentions while defending Orozar Highstone." Loew would like to get some of his gear. I don't know my way around the furnace that well yet. Once we have had enough of Rago, I would like to find these 2 as well. Wouldn't mind doing a run just to explore and find some of the other bosses.

While bosses are always in certain locations down there, it's not necessarily the same bosses in the same spots. I believe I've found and killed every boss down there with the exception of the ones behind the doors that you have to blow up. I've found 11 total.

I apologize for not returning for the later runs. The first run I tried, my PC lost power before we got into SF. The second run, our second monk dropped and we were a 5 man group and couldn't continue with 4. After that, our group pretty much disbanded. I hopped on Battlefield 2 with other ToJ members and didn't look back.

We made it through two runs later in the night. Bella (again) got the green, this time a Willcrusher. We made out with some decent golds, too, but on our second run the only green that dropped the entire time was The Kindlerock and it wasn't for myself, Bella or Indy.

I, too, would like to take out some of the Nec bosses when we get a chance, Loew. Bortak in particular.

I know another way to get to Rago without having to blow up doors. I think there are 19 different bosses down there. We can go kill all 19 if you want sometime. Please take Indy Ablaze. It was excruciatingly frustrating with my Monk last night because of our tank that wouldn't tank. We killed Rago but it took about three times longer than normal.

Our two Necros did an admiral job of anticipating my energy needs. My hat is off to both of them, even though I was the only one besides Bella's Monk that benefitted from Blood is Power. The rest of our party never knew that they were sacrificing health to give our team healing energy.

Thanks also to Loew Krug for reminding me with a whisper that we hadn't prepped the warrior on what skills to take. This was when my frustration was about to boil over. The warrior would literally turn and run FROM the baddies sometimes. Okay.......I need to FORGET that scene right now.

For Warriors: If I were to take Star Slobberknocker on that run I would take Defensive Stance, Gladiator's Defense, and Bonetti's Defense with me (in addition to my attack skills). I wouldn't take Shield Stance (even though I love it) because 95% of the time you will be carrying a powderkeg, not a shield. Activate one stance, when it expires activate another, and so on........hopefully when the third expires the first will be nearly recharged.

We can take Budger and his powderkegs and go all over the Furnace killing bosses if you would like. The route we took the last two days is simply the shortest route to the 100k you could get for Rago's Flame Staff.

I am totally down for a later night run through ALL the bosses. Oh, and I need Rago's Staff to use, not sell. ;)

I've had great success cycling through Defensive and Bonetti's, but instead of Gladiator's I have had more success with Mark of Protection. While MoP doesn't deal damage on a miss like Gladiator's does, it's basically a ten second Reversal of Fortune. With all the degen that you're facing down there, you can still die pretty easily as a tank if something happens to the monk(s). MoP allows you to quickly refill your lifebar and negate any damage besides degen for 10 energy. Awesome tank skill.
