13 No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
This was one of the first Scriptures I memorized when I first started a methodical memorization program through The Navigators. It is just as relevant today as it was then. It is one of the promises in God's word that we should claim, because, just like Christ we too are tempted and tried. We don't really have the out to say, "I just couldn't help it, that is just the way I am." So next time temptation seems overwhelming go to this verse, then ask God where the way out is. It usually is reliance on the Holy Spirit's help.
