Unreal tourny 99.

Alright, so right now I'm looking at getting a game (or games) for under $20 total. I like the look of unreal tournament 99, so I have a three questions for anyone who has it. Do people still play it? Is it easy or hard to find a server with a good amount of people in it? And is there a way to turn the blood and gore off?

Josh,

Most of the people left playing UT99 right now have been playing since it was released, so my concern is that you'll find a hard time getting to play against people your skill level. Feel free to give it a shot though. I believe there are several servers still pretty active. As far as disabling the gore, I'm pretty sure that's an option.

Josh , that's a really great deal for such good games to play. UT 99 can run on just about any pc. UT 3 requires a pretty (higher end pc) good pc to play.
At the UT ToJ chapter we love new players. Also a few like the older UT games. Missionary and Taco play Unreal.
I don't think you'll be sorry about spending the $20.

Gore and language are easy to stop with the settings.

My specs fit the UT3 requirement, but it didn't work with how I install it. Im using Ubuntu linux + Wine (www.winehq.org) to get games working.

I was looking on epic games website and there is a ut2004 linux patch that gives you the proper linux binary. more info here: http://forums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=652388&highlight=linux+wine

Thats what the guy did in the forum link i put in last post. Sounds like it should work fine. I'd hate for it to not work for you though.

I'm pretty sure. The linux patch I saw was for 3369, which was the last official patch. I'm almost positive that PC, MAC, and Linux users can all play on the same servers.

I believe so. I use windows but play a lot on linux servers. why not the other way.
