Upgrading CPU

Wh1te Out

New Member
I'm contemplating an attempt at upgrading my CPU for the first time. The more I read about multithreading I realize that my poor Pentium IV is quickly becoming "old." The questions are these: How much will it cost me? And is it a simple installation that I could do by myself?

Any tips, suggestions, experiences would be great. Thanks.

first you'll have to upgrade your psu. Second make sure your motherboard can handle the cpu you wnat to upgrade to. Thirdly make ure to add additional cooling to your case to handle the extra heat. fourthly, upgrade the cpu cooling system as well. It can be done but the value is relaly reduced these days.

Frnakly,
Just build/buy a new system..:)

the physical act of changing it out isn't hard..the costs can be prohibitve though. If you are going simply to a higher p-4 then it's easier. However it seems you want to go pent-d. So the above could bite you.

let's do this:
we need the following specs:
motherboard make and model
power supply make and model
All other cards list in here
how much ram and what type.

It might be doable..:)

actually if u really wanted to do someting, upgrade to an AMD and your fine. and cheaper than intel products. post up ur specs and ur price range and should be simple
