Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is on sale on Steam. Is it worth $5?

I have it but have only played it for a day or two. I bought it as an impulse, a few months ago, when it was on sale. It is fun, although a bit disturbing (you have to drink peoples' blood to restore your "mana/power").

One thing that I don't like is that the maximum resolution is too low for my taste, especially on a 21" monitor. It really shows its age on newer pc's.

Not sure if that will really help, since I never finished the game.

I have been wanting to play this game for a long time. I installed it recently, but haven't fired it up yet. I remember it having a huge cult following.

I think Bloodlines is more recent than redemption? Not sure which is the better of the two but Gog.com has Redemption for $2.99 for now: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/vampire_the_masquerade_redemption#s_0

I've played Bloodlines and It's quite a lot of fun though pretty buggy. I think there are some fan patches that fix a lot of things. The best description I could give it would be Deus Ex with Vampires. It's closer to the original Deus Ex play style then Human Revolution.

I've only ever played the demo for Redemption and remember it being pretty slow and something in the vain of Baldurs Gate. I think Bloodlines is on sale this week on steam too.
