Ventrillo is going to be releasing a new version of its Vent server and client program. On Wednesday November 13 2007, they will be releasing v3.0, an upgrade from 2.3. Important to note that there is compatability issues between the versions.

1. If you are running the 2.3 client trying to connect to a 3.0 server, you will not connect to the server.
2. If you are running the 3.0 client trying to connect to a 2.3 server, you will get a warning and then not connect.

Basically, if you are running a 3.0 client, you can only connect to a 3.0 server. And if you are running 2.3 client, you can only connect to a 2.3 server. There is absolutely no cross compatability.

Currently, the vent server will be migrating to 3.0 during Wednesday daytime hours. Which means you will require the 3.0 client to access it Wednesday evening.

Please watch this thread for any changes to the schedule.

Remember, there is no cross compatability between 2.3 and 3.0 If you do not have the 3.0 client you can not connect to the vent server.
