Virtualmin license renewal will cost $45

We currently have $38.85 USD in the CGA Paypal account. (We have no other financial accounts.) Our dedicated server renewal isn't due until next August, but our Virtualmin license expired in October. D'oh! (See, this is just one more reason we need a CGA Accounts Manager.)

All is not lost, though. We just need to purchase a license renewal for $45. That means we need $6.15 USD in donations to cover the cost. I'd like at least a small buffer, so let's call it $11.15 USD.

For more information on donating to the CGA, please read here.

Virtualmin is the control panel we use to manage the CGA web site and server. Our license ran out and is now up for renewal.

Tek, how can you ask for $11.15 when the forum donation module only goes $5-$10-$15-$20...?...
Isn't there an option to specify a donation amount?

And a generous community member has donated $15, so we're clear on the Virtualmin license. Huzzah!

There are always upcoming expenses, though, so if you're interested in helping support the CGA, keep this thread handy.

And, as always, if you're 18 or over, a community member in good standing, and interested in serving as the CGA Accounts Manager, please send a private message to cgdoc519 to volunteer for the position.

So it turns out that renewing the license isn't strictly necessary as it's possible to switch to a free version. I need to research the differences between the paid and free versions or delegate that research to someone else before I drop $45 on a license renewal.

Again, this is why it would be good to have an Accounts Manager.

No matter what we decide, the $15 will go toward CGA expenses, so no worries there.
