[ Listen to the Word and Do What It Says ] My dear brothers and sisters, pay attention to what I say. Everyone should be quick to listen. But they should be slow to speak. They should be slow to get angry.

I don't know about everyone else but this is one of those tough to do verses for me. I think most of us have a least a little problem with listening, really listening. It is so easy to just jump in and put in our own two cents worth. As the old saying goes though, we have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Pray for me and I will pray for you that we may learn to listen that we may more effectively present the gospel in understanding love.

Dear God forgive us for the times when we don't listen to others and to you. Teach us to listen closely and carefully that you may be glorified when we do finally speak. In Christ's name Amen.
