Durruck

Pirate!
Paul wrote a very encouraging letter to the church at Philippi. Through the 4 chapters, he continually builds them up, guides them, and offers gentle reminders on righteous living. I have always been amazed at how positive Paul remained despite his circumstances - it's easy to worry, to doubt, to fear. But Paul reminds us:

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7, NIV)

Paul was under house arrest, his death looming on the near horizon. And yet he rejoiced in the Lord, and rested on the peace of God, which guides our hearts and minds.

Next time you're worried, doubting, or afraid.... pray! Talk to God and ask for comfort, strength, healing, peace, wisdom, discernment... whatever it is that will help get you through your troubles.
