God said:
Psalm 137:8-9 (KJV) O Daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. 9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

Psalm 137: 8-9 (NCV) People of Babylon, you will be destroyed. The people who pay you back for what you did to us will be happy. 9 They will grab your babies and throw them against the rocks.

Psalm 137: 8-9 (NIV) 8 O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us. 9 he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

For ease of others. and my Bible italisizes in the KJV

??? An Iraq prophesy discussion maybe? Babylon = part of modern Iraq.

There are lots of verses about the judgment that God will give to those who are Israel's traditional enemies. Perhaps he wants to talk about the prophetic destruction of them or maybe he is just a griever, I don't know, I'm grasping at straws here. I'm very busy and don't have time for a deep discussion anyway.

Oh and thank you for listing the verses Stc95 :).

why I believe

In 1976 my sister was 6, I was 12. She thought getting the mail was a good idea, but was struck by a drunk driver (his car). She received a hole in her forhead the size of a quarter (25¢ piece), and her abdomen was super-scuffed by her subsequent action of 'surfing' facedown on the blacktop road. My grandfather's whole church prayed, and my sister was released from the hospital the day after because all her scabs just fell off. I remember Dad saying the doctor was Jewish, and was totally awestruck.

Early one morning in 2003 my Mother had a stroke. Her left side was paralyzed, and she could not speak coherently. She could mumble things like, "Noodles kitten the free shower doll." This condition persisted for two days. This time my Dad was a real Christian, and both his church and my grandfather's church prayed for my Mom. After the third day she woke up, went into the hospital room toilet by herself, and demanded some breakfast. Keep in mind she *was* half paralyzed. She has been her normal old self ever since, and has no memory of ever being in bad shape. I have always marveled about that happening after three days of her condition.

I am 42, I thought I was a Christian all my life, until about 15 years ago some men from the local Baptist church came and shared 'the Roman's Road' and 'the Sinner's Prayer' with me. But I remember my Mother reading me Bible stories at a young age, I had a good foundation, just no house built on it. Recently I moved my spiritual house onto the Rock, and I am moving Forward now. Glory to God. So, while I 'always' believed in God, I just shared two true stories of why I could never truly deny Him.

Here's another reason: have you ever seen a blob of jello that could communicate its surroundings to you in 3D & technocolor? That's what most people's eyes do every day! Only a real God could ever hope to create an eye. (Don't suggest a camera either, it's a poor substitute/model, and it isn't alive.)

Until you feel you can admit God exists, you shouldn't use His words in your argument against Him.

With that said, it is hard for us to understand God's ways. He chooses the meek to lead the strong, the few to defeat the many, the Lamb to remove the sins of man. In this particular situation, it's all about context. God exercises his judgement upon the wicked however He deems fit. Burning Sodom and Gomorrah, killing Lot's wife for looking back, killing all of the Egyptian firstborns... we may not understand it today, but it's the way God wanted things to work out.

I'm surprised that you would pick this verse. There are so many other challenging verses for us to decipher and get past.

However, I feel my time here is wasted as we'll never see this person here again. I suppose we should just pray for the troller, and move on.
