Wierd question...

I was trying to find out awhile ago by searching on google, about reasons that people have streaks of white hair, I couldn't find anything but stupid game stuff. So...does anyone know or ever heard anything about why people have white streaks of hair?
 
Because they're freaks. No, I jest. Anyway it's probably just a freak thing per person where the loss of color in their hair just happened to be in streaky patterns.
 
Some people admire video game characters, so with the white hair, who else than Dante from Devil May Cry game, Dante has white hair.

Not sure about the streaks, but early greying of the hair is hereditary. I come from a family where greying occurs quite early. My grandfather was "salt-and-pepper" by the time he finished high school. I found my first grey hair at age six, but mine still hasn't progressed as quickly as his.
 
Well that shows what you know, there's no such thing as gray hair. It's acctually white hair that appears gray in contrast to the normal colored hair.

Its genetic, I know a little girl who had a blonde streak through her brown hair. She had it till she was around 5 or 6 I think and then it went away.
 
i ask because I have it...lol i've had it ever since i can remember....i used to hate it....when i was little i cut the whole lil section out but anyways....theres like 2 streaks now =O and it's not grey looking either....lol its white

idk....i'm coming to terms with it...learning to live with it......cuz haha i feel bad for my hair...i started dying my hair in 5th grade b/c of it

I still donno tho....none of my family ever went through that....well no one I'm really blood related to...cept....maybe one person but i can't remember if she did or not..so idk.....keep the ideas comin if ya want

Heh. I have a white streak in my hair, too. It came in when I was 17...on top of my head.

My best friend, better known as Elihu on the forums, noticed the streak and asked me if a bird had pooped in my hair. Since a bird did drop a birdy tird in my hair when I was in eighth grade, I checked by running my fingers through my hair but didn't pick up any residoo. I mean, err, residue. ^^

My dad has his white streak at the front of his hair, so it looks way cool. Mine looks like, well, like a bird pooped in my hair. People are frequently asking me, "Do you have paint in your hair?" So I sympathize.

I've always like the spot; I tell people that it's "God's thumbprint," put there so He can keep an eye on me. It also gave me an excuse when my friends wanted me to "frost" my hair in my early twenties. I've never died my hair and I have no intention to do so in the future. (Besides, my hair is dark, dark brown so I'd have to bleach it like four times to get it lighter--and by then, it'd be about ready to fall out.)

I'm not sure why I told that story, really. Just thought I'd pass along the "You're not alone" sentiment. ^^

I have dark brown hair too...i never dyed it lighter.....just the normal color to cover the streak yeah but i used to tell ppl i put peroxide in my hair......now....i don't care at all lol im just like "yeah i've had it forever blah blah" when ppl ask "OMYGOSH YOU HAVE GRAY HAIR AND YOU'RE ONLY 16!?" im like lol...its not gray....but....yeah..

ARG, people say the same thing to me! And I have to tell almost everyone who notices the patch of white hair, "It's not gray. It's white. Gray is not white. My patch is white. Not gray."

lol it's funny b/c you get irritated....b/c its like one person after the other, and etc. and then you're stuck explaining WHY it's white..and why its there..and you're just like..dude....idk

I dunno where it comes from, but I have white streaks in the front of my hair as well.

Maybe we should start a club.
