Wii Sports Resort...

So I finally got my copy of Wii Sports Resort...not really expecting much...and what I have to say is...it is one of the best games I have EVER played on any system...the (rather expensive and required) MotionPlus accessory makes the Wii Mote much more accurate, and having seriously practiced sword styles and being to replicate those styles in game, and tearing up enemies...all I have to say is...WOW!!! ...yes, I am basing the fact I really really like this game off of only 1 out of the 12 different modes on a game... :)

Agreed. :)

Really? I think $20 is fair for what the add-on contributes to gameplay. If you look at the purchase of Wii Sports Resort as spending $30 on the game and $20 on the MotionPlus add-on, it makes it a bit easier to spend $50 on the package. Having played all 12 gametypes, I can confidently say that the game is worth $30 and the package is worth $50.

Swordplay is my favorite game mode out of the 12, but I've been waiting since my childhood for a game like this. When the Wii debuted in 2006, I was hoping for a system with 1:1 motion controls. It took an extra 3 years, but I finally have the controls I imagined when Nintendo first unveiled the Power Glove so long ago.

The cheapest I can find the MotionPlus around here is $25, and I need at least 2 more...

Really? Last time I was at Wal-Mart, I saw a standalone MotionPlus add-on for $20.

As much as I hate the idea of bringing Wal-Mart more sales, here's a link to their MotionPlus add-on product page.

I just bought it and it is great. The sword duel and speed slice are great and I really like archery. I also like the expanded golf game. Its a real improvement over the original.

Did they make this game so that you have to actually make the action for it to work?

I remember on the original Wii Sports (bowling specifically) that if you stopped the bowling motion when your arm is funny stretched out by your leg your shots were better. Can this be said about the new one?

The Bowling game is more accurate this time around, which makes it more difficult.

I second this...I tried the old "techniques" from Wii Sports to get a high score...it was fail...instead of my upper 200 (like 280)...I got 130...which is my average in real life...lol...

I've only gotten a little bit of time with the game (my brother got it just before I moved out ;_;), but what I played was great. For some odd reason I was able to match my brother in fencing, despite him actually training with the epee(sp?) and a couple other styles... and I not having done so. I just emulated what he did and got him first most of the time.

I'm sure he'll start kicking my butt when he moves into here in a couple months, though. :p

I only got a chance to try fencing and archery, though, so I can't really say anything about bowling... or anything else on the game.
