Will an older mobo support my 200GB drive?

I'm contemplating installing my 200GB drive in Ember's PC while I wait for replacements parts for my PC. I have a few questions first, though:

(1) If the motherboard doesn't recognize the full hard drive size, could it corrupt or destory any data on the drive?
(2) Think the ol' Asus A7M266 will handle a 200GB hard drive? I believe I'm using BIOS revision 1007, but I'll have to reboot to see and make sure.

EDIT: Hard drive in question is the Western Digital 200GB Special Edition IDE drive.

EDIT: Found this line in the info on BIOS revision 1006 for the A7M266:
Add HDD LBA48bit mode support.
No clue what that means.

Again I direct you to my dad.

He works on computers and the like and has fixed numerous peoples, he hasn't failed to fix one yet. As long as he as access to the actual tower (as long as he needs it. If he can't then he cna only give advice or instructions.

Heh, nevermind. *blush* I called my friend Chris, he told me everything should work, I performed the transplant (placed my 200GB drive in Ember's PC), and it worked!

I'm going to run tests on the drive (Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostics and chkdsk) and should have access to my archive and downloads later tonight.

I ran chkdsk and am thrilled to say that it repaired my media files! *cheers wildly*

And, with that, I'll go ahead and lock the thread. ^^
