WoW on your phone?

Some horrifying news for those of you trying to kick your World of Warcraft addiction - Blizzard is officially considering a mobile version of WoW. Personally, I don’t see the point: when I was deep in the dark, dark well of WoW addiction, I wasn’t very mobile. In fact, I wasn’t leaving the house much at all, except that one time when there was a fire, and even then I stayed to see if that enhancement shaman (it’s shaman loot, warriors) chest mail piece is gonna drop in Zul’ Gurub.

Hopefully, no one at Blizzard thinks that having people staring at their mobiles and moving around like zombies, falling under cars and trams while they desperately try to escape that level 70 hunter is a good idea. Frank Pearce, co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, seems to be more interested in an app that lets you monitor auctions and read in-game mail from your mobile. Oh well, anything that brings zillions of cash to your pockets is a good idea, so I understand their angle on this one. I’m just worried about the future of mankind.

Oh great another reason for people to be on the phone while driving. After wrecking the car their dying words will be "did I get the drop?" O.o .

lol...I love this new thing going around in Indiana...if you are on a cell phone at the time of a accident, EVEN IF IT ISN'T YOUR FAULT, you can be rightly sued, and fined for reckless driving...happening a lot now, still doesn't stop idiots in big SUVs going 90 MPH talking on a cell phone and writing down a memo... (believe me, I am actually getting sick of being passed by people down the highway while they are on their cell phone, and writing something down, YES PASSING ME... and no, not 2 lanes one direction...1 lane, 1 direction... what the world has come to... :( )

When text messaging hit cell phones, I claimed then that the world had lost it's mind, but I had not seen anything yet... :/

I used to watch movies on my laptop on a two-lane highway going through Montana. My wife would call me on the phone and ask me what movie was on. Multitasking is win.

I usually do not even answer my phone unless it is family, and if it rings while I am driving I do not answer it, because I refuse to be a reckless driver... It has already been proven that driving while having a conversation on a cell phone is worse than driving drunk (to a certain extent)...I am just waiting around for the law, if it ever comes around...

South Carolina state law prohibits the use of cell phones (unless it's a hands free) while driving but that doesn't deter many people.

Selling points of the next generation of cell phones:

"The LG 9600-005 is compatable with the following online MMORPG:
- World of Warcraft
- Lord of the Rings Online
- Guild Wars
- Warhammer"

I would have to stop using cell phones altogether if that really happened...

The frequency with which some people use cell phones and text messaging is already scary enough without adding MMORPGS. Maybe the surgical grafting of one to your body will become a option if that happens O.O. I am still waiting for the full motion video phone that lets you see the person you are talking to real time though. Hmm I'm musing with all this convergence of technology what will you really call the cell phones of the future? Pho-comps? Comp-ones? Phoneys? They will probably combine cell phones, pdas and probably notebook computers (if they perfect that hologram projection thing). It will probably be a apple product whatever it is :p

Did you know that using a cell phone (men only...lol) I think it's more than an hour a day, dramatically lowers your sperm count, also, they found that users over 4 hours lost like 60%... Those of you out there trying to get pregnant, get your husbands to stop using cell phones... :)

Wouldn't it be, "Should I release, or can I get a rez?"

:p

I've heard there is some debate that they may cause brain cancer too O.o. While it's easy to dismiss as hysteria or urban legend I keep thinking of lead pipes and all the carcinogens that people breath in. Seems like it would not be out of place.

<side note> Was not there a CGA member with a signature referring to a huge amount of cell phones that end up in landfills?</side note>

Also, I am not sure if this is contributed to cell phones, but the cancer death toll in the U.S. went UP by 5,400 last year, while the WORLD toll decreased by 1000s... hmm...
