if EA begins to interfere too much Ewoks and i will personally drive to Redwood City, about 20 minutes from here, and kick some <NDA>.

I have sent an email to the CEO of EA and he has been made aware of our threats....

Seriously, after rooming with him for two years, I've seen it in action. In fact, I have no <NDA> left anymore...

Well WAR is about in the same place DAOC was at launch; a great MMO. But even the best MMOs can be run down by the people that run them and their policies. Mythic has proven with the state of DAOC right now that they will continue to kowtow to the demands of the players no matter how stupid those demands are.

It's still EA, and they are being run by the same person who killed off Origin, Westwood, and Bullfrog shortly after buying them and promising them the same "oversight" they "promised" Mythic.

I give it less than three years before Mythic is absorbed completely into EA and they shut down WAR after it fails to reach WoW levels of subscriptions. EA wants a WoW killer, and WAR simply won't be it. The only thing that stands a chance of meeting or surpassing WoW is Blizzard's next MMO.

As much as I loved DAOC; Mythic has a serious problem with kowtowing to the players TOO much, which killed the balance in the game where classes kept being changed due to complaints on the official forums (which were at DAOC Vault). Mythic simply doesn't have the discipline that Blizzard does in terms of polish and focus on maintaining the game's integrity over the long run.

An example would be if Mythic were running WoW and enough players went to the forums and whined that Pyroblast should be an instant-cast spell. Mythic would likely change it just to shut up the vocal minority of forum whiners, which would debalance the mage class and cause a domino effect. It happened ALL the time in DAOC.

WAR will likely do a bit better than Age of Conan, only to see a similar drop off a few months after launch and be supported by a very loyal DAOC fanbase who sees this as DAOC2.

No offense to you or your thoughts...

But as a long time DAoC player and a Closed Beta Tester for WAR.

I disagree with your stated opinion.

If you would like to play WAR for a month and then discuss, I would be glad to do that with you.

See above post....

BTW are you in the Closed Beta to make an opinion on the game?

If so send me an in game tell or join us on the WAR vent while we play the actual game together.

WAR is far ahead of DAoC, Warhammer, EQ, EQ2, and I can tell you that from playing all of them.

oh see. you haven't played Hello Kitty Island Adventure so your opinion means squAT. :D

lol, WAR looks like a great game. But i think my brain can't relearn a new MMO. I must say, I know to much about WoW to switch. Trust me i have tried with AoC, LOTRO, Lineage II, and a few others. I just can't do it! I lose interest because i think it more convient to run around a familiar world.

Sorry about the grammatical errors, i ahve to go pick up my wife from work. Seeya!

Thats true when you are solo or with 1 other person in a new game , but if you come play WAR with us you will have like 50+ christian brothers and sisters ready to teach you and help you learn!!! We won't let you lose interest because the war is everywhere and we need you at the FRONTlines!
