Your favorite Worship song.

I have 2 favorite worship songs. They were both sang a few times at my teen camp the year I got saved.

The first one is Still by Hillsong

Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust

My second favorite one is Jesus, Lover of my Soul also by Hillsong

Jesus, Lover of my soul,
Jesus, I will never let you go
You’ve taken me from the miry clay
You've set my feet upon the Rock, and now i know

I love you, I need you,
Though my world may fall, I’ll never let you go
My Saviour, my closest friend,
I will worship you until the very end

My favorites:

Better is One Day
How lovely is Your dwelling place Oh Lord Almighty,
For my soul longs And even faints For You
Oh, here my heart Is satisfied Within Your presence
I see beneath The shadow of Your wings

Better is one day in Your courts, Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts, Than thousands elsewhere

Shout to the Lord
My Jesus, My Savior, Lord there is none like You
All of my days, I want to praise The wonders of Your mighty love
My Comfort, My Shelter, Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am, Never cease to worship You

Shout to the Lord, all the earth Let us sing.
Power and majesty, praise to the King.
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
Forever I'll love you, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in you.

Amen...awesome song
(My Daughter even can play it on her guitar...w00t)

a song written in my church called "Holy One":

Holy Father,
Holy Son,
Holy Spirit,
Holy One, Come

simple, yet powerful. makes my girlfriend cry every time she hears it.

Possibly the most incredible praise and worship song, and it comes from Scripture:

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

For the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

The kingdom of this world
Is become the kingdom of our Lord,
And of His Christ, and of His Christ;
And He shall reign for ever and ever,
For ever and ever, forever and ever,

King of kings, and Lord of lords,
King of kings, and Lord of lords,
And Lord of lords,
And He shall reign,
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings, forever and ever,
And Lord of lords,
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

And He shall reign forever and ever,

King of kings! and Lord of lords!
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings! and Lord of lords!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
We have performed this the last two Easters. It's one of the most wonderful experiences, but leaves me totally drained. (Soprano certainly isn't easy, and there is NO second soprano part...)

In case you didn't recognize it, it's "Hallelujah," from Handel's Messiah. (Popularly called "the Hallelujah Chorus.") I wanted people to actually think about the words; I think we tend to get caught up in the music. (Which is, of course, absolutely incredible, but I think it's even more moving when you THINK about the words. Once I had to learn the words, it took on a whole new meaning.)

Ahhh great songs so far.

Favorite worship song eh? But there are so many awesome and amazing ones out. I can't pick one, so I'll put down... three heh.

#1 - Amazed - Lincoln Brewster

You dance over me
While I am unaware
You sing all around
But I never hear the sound

Lord I'm amazed by you (3x)
And how you love me

You paint the morning skies
With miracles in mind
My hope will always stand
For You hold me in your hands

#2 - Wonderful Maker - Chris Tomlin

You spread out the skies over empty space
Said "let there be light"
Into a dark and formless world
Your light was born

You spread out Your arms over empty hearts
Said "let there be light"
Into a dark and hopeless world
Your Son was born

You made the world and saw that it was good
You sent Your only Son for You are good

What a wonderful Maker
What a wonderful Savior
How majestic Your whispers
And how humble Your love
With a strength like no other
And the heart of a Father
How majestic Your whispers
What a wonderful God

No eye has fully seen, how beautiful the cross
And we have only heard
The faintest whispers of
how great You are

And #3 - No One Like You - David Crowder Band

You are more beautiful
Than anyone ever
Everyday You're the same
You never change, no never

And how could I ever deny
The love of my Savior
You are to me everything
All I need forever
How could You be so good to me?

[chorus]
There is no one like You
There has never ever been anyone like You
[/chorus]

Everywhere You are there
Earth or air surrounding
I'm not alone, the heavens sing along
My God You're so astounding
How could You be so good to me
Eternally I believe that'

[Chorus]

Okay I'll stop taking up space. Hope everyone has had a great week!

Wow! Great songs from everyone.... got me loading up my songs at 8 AM this morning :)

Here is my Contribution. It's a contemporary worship song..... from Salvador

With God

Looks like stormy forever
And you'll never see the light of day
Paul and Silas kept on singing, believing
Their deliverer was on the way
For they knew

With God, I'm protected
With God, I'm set free
With God, none shall harm me
With God

Looks like stormy weather forever
And you'll never see the light of day
Three times that day Daniel knelt and prayed
Oh not afraid, of the consequences he might face
And he cried

With God, I'm protected
With God, I'm set free
With God, none shall harm me
With God

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want (shall not want)
He's my strength, He leads me on
I walk through the valley I'm not afraid
He's there, He is there

For with God, I'm protected
For with God, I'm set free
With God, None shall harm me
With God

God is Good by Alvin Slaughter

Chorus:God is good, all the time (3x)
For unmerited favor, I'll stand up and say, God is good, all the time.

He made a road in the wilderness, I used to be lost but now I'm free (God is good)
He would've left His throne in glory, if there was nobody else but me (God is good)

Chorus

I used to feel I was all alone, I was looking for peace in my mind (God is good)
But Jesus showed me a better way, and that's the reason I testify that God is good

Repeat chorus ad nauseam

It's has a black gospel feel to it, and I highly suggest a visit to Alvinslaughter.com to get a free 1 minute snippet of the song.

Also, Ron Kenoly did an AMAZING remix of the Hallelujah Chorus on his Majesty album, which is my personal favorite worship album.

I think you'll see a lot of posts from me in this thread. My husband is the professional music guy, with the music degree, but I'm the one for whom music is a primary form of worship.

Some of my favorite worship songs are unconventional choices. Here's one of them:
Thief by Third Day

I am a thief, I am a murderer, Walking up this lonely hill
What have I done? I don't remember. No one knows just how I feel
and I know that my time is coming soon.

It's been so long. Oh, such a long time, Since I've lived with peace and rest
Now I am here, my destination guess things work for the best
and I know that my time is coming soon

Who is this man? This man beside me, They call the King of the Jews
They don't believe that He's the Messiah, But, somehow I know it's true.

And they laugh at Him in mockery, and beat Him till he bleeds
They nail Him to the rugged cross, and raise Him,
they raise Him up next to me

My time has come, I'm slowly fading, I deserve what I receive
Jesus when You are in Your kingdom Could You please remember me?

and He looks at me still holding on the tears fall from His eyes
He says, "I tell the truth, Today, you will live with Me in paradise."
and I know that my time is coming soon,
and I know paradise is coming soon.

This song is such a song of hope. We all need God's mercy as much as the thief on the cross, and we sent Jesus to that cross just as surely as the thief. But He is just as willing to save us as He was to forgive the thief. That's why this song still moves me to tears.

Apparently the guys of Third Day agree, since it appeared on Offerings, their first worship album.

...and my no-warnings-at-all-what-a-gyp-I-hardly-did-anything ban is lifted.

SO! I like "Amazing", or I think it's called that.

'That's what's so amazing about Your grace' is part of the chorus I think...

Sanctuary

Lord, Prepare me,
To be a sanctuary,
Pure and holy,
Tried and true,
With thanksgiving,
I'll be a living,
Sanctuary
For You.

Our God Is An Awesome God

When He rolls up His sleeve, He ain't just puttin' on the Ritz.
There is thunder in His footsteps And lightnin' in His fist

And the Lord wasn't jokin' when He kicked 'em out of Eden
It wasn't for no reason that He shed His blood
His return is very close and so you better be believin'
That our God is an awesome God

Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, pow'r and love
Our God is an awesome God

And when the sky was starless in the void of the night
(Our God is an awesome God)
He spoke into the darkness and created the light
(Our God is an awesome God)
The judgment and wrath He poured out on Sodom
Mercy and grace He gave us at the cross
I hope that we have not too quickly forgotten
That our God is an awesome God

Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, pow'r and love
Our God is an awesome God

I like "Our God is an Awesome God" too. I even rewrote a version for gamers!

Circle of Friends - Point of Grace

We were made to love and be loved
But the price this world demands
Will cost you far too much
I spent so many lonely years
Just trying to fit in
Now I've found a place in this circle of friends

Chorus:
In a circle of friends
We have one Father
In a circle of friends
We share this prayer
That every orphaned soul will know
And all will enter in
To the shelter of this circle of friends

If you weep, I will weep with you
If you sing for joy
The rest of us will lift our voices too
But no matter what you feel inside
There's no need to pretend
That's the way it is in this circle of friends

Chrous

Among the nations, tribes and tongues
We have sisters and brothers
And when we meet in heaven
We will recognize each other
With joy so deep
And love so sweet
Oh, we'll celebrate these friends
And a life that never ends

Chorus

That it will not be long before
All will enter in
To the shelter of this circle of friends

God Be Merciful To Me
Jars of Clay - Redemption Songs

God be merciful to me
on Thy grace, I rest my plea
Plenteous in compassion Thou
Blot out my transgressions now

Wash me, make me pure within
Cleanse, oh, cleanse me from my sin

My transgressions I confess
Grief and guilt my soul oppress
I have sinned against Thy grace
And provoked Thee to Thy face

I confess Thy judgment just
Speechless, I, Thy mercy trust

I am evil born in sin
Thou desirest truth within
Thou alone my Savior art
Teach Thy wisdom to my heart

Make me pure, Thy grace bestow
Wash me whiter than the snow

Gracious God, my heart renew
Make my spirit right and true
Thy salvation's joy impart
Steadfast make my willing heart
Steadfast make my willing heart

Broken, humbled to the dust
By Thy wrath and judgment just
Let my contrite heart rejoice
And in gladness hear Thy voice

From my sins, oh, hide Thy face
Blot them out in boundless grace

We Fall Down
We fall down
We lay our crowns
At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of
Your Mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus
And we cry holy, holy, holy
And we cry holy, holy, holy
And we cry holy, holy, holy
Is the lamb

Jesus, Name Above All Names
Jesus, name above all names
Beautiful Savior, glorious Lord
Emmanuel, God is with us
Blessed Redeemer, Living Word
