Tekken characters on the SF4 engine. Zangief vs. Kuma. My money's on the bear.

EDIT: Video clip can be seen here: http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/30596

They also announced Tekken x Street Fighter... which will be using a modified form of the Tekken 6 (or will it be Tekken 7 by then?) engine. Street Fighter x Tekken is running on a modified SFIV engine (as I'm guessing y'all can see in the footage). I'm not sure about TxSF, but SFxT is 2v2.

Oddly... I'm not that excited about it. Still just waitin' for MvC3.

And KoFXIII if the netcode doesn't suck.

Dude, when I heard the news, I was like, "... DOES... NOT... COMPUTE!"

But I am pleasantly surprised at how Kazuya and Nina look in the SFIV engine. Also the gameplay demo implies there will be a tag system. I hope that means the Tekken X Street Fighter game will have the tag system as well since I have been missing that since Tekken Tag Tournament from way back.

I am hoping we get to see a similar gameplay demo footage of Tekken X Street Fighter.

Dream matchups off the top of my head:
Ryu vs. Kazuya
Zangief vs. Kuma
Juri vs. Hwoarang
Rufus vs. Bob
Balrog vs. Steve Fox
Abel vs. Craig Marduk
Gouken vs. Heihachi
Gen vs. Wang Jinrei
Sakura vs. Asuka
Cammy vs. Lili
Chun-Li vs. Xiaoyu
C. Viper vs. Nina
Blanka vs. Christie Monteiro
El Fuerte vs. King
Ibuki vs. Raven
Makoto vs. Feng Wei
Guile vs. Dragunov
T. Hawk vs. Julia Chang
Fei Long vs. Marshall Law

I could go on forever.

And KoFXIII if the netcode doesn't suck.
I want KOFXIII so bad. I have been subscribed to SNK's youtube channel looking at all the gameplay reference videos and demo videos. That game looks so good. I am hoping for good netcode as well. (Please use GGPO, SNK!)

Oh man. You actually know stuff about netcode. I am so happy. Didn't notice a lot of fighting fans here before, so kudos to you.

I adored KoFXII's mechanics (KoFXI was the first fighter I took seriously, and I find myself still ultimately favoring KoF to SF), but the game, as a retail release, felt a little underdeveloped... and there was nobody to play with online since the netcode was so bad. Here's to hoping they get it right this time around.

Back to the topic at hand... I will definitely get behind Ibuki vs. Raven, too. Each are among my favorite fighters from their respective games. Would be sweet.

PS Sent you a PSN friend request.

Capcom needs to cool it for a while. I still need time to pick up a PS3 and Super Street Fighter IV and they're already planning two games ahead (Marvel vs. Capcom 3 being the first, Street Fighter vs. Tekken being the second).

When I read the news about there being both a Street Fighter vs. Tekken and a Tekken vs. Street Fighter, I thought it was a joke between friends at Capcom and Namco. You have to admit, it would make an awesome April Fools Day joke.

lol Don't worry. They're releasing more.

I mean, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online was also announced.

And SuperSFIV is getting an arcade release, and it's pretty much guaranteed new characters will be released with it. So the question becomes this: Will the new characters be released as DLC for Super... or will we be getting SuperSFIV Turbo?

It never ends. It's 1992+ all over again. lol

Good news, sorta, is that SFXT won't come out until 2012 according to the most recent blog post on Shoryuken. TXSF comes out after that (so I'm guessing it'll use the inevitable Tekken 7 engine). Capcom is spacing out their major releases. Super SFIV this year. MvC3 next year. SFXT the year after. Not all bad.

But then you get non-Capcom games (like KoFXIII, MK9, BB:CS, etc.) thrown in... and there are definitely a ton of fighting games to have to choose from. lol
