I've bought more than $3,299.54 worth of hiking and camping gear, 33 items, in the last 3 years.
I had no idea that I'd spent that much. Seriously. It was quite a shock.
Of course, a lot of the items are redundant, or I bought for friends who couldn't afford it. Or, there are upgrades. And, no, these aren't impulse buys, either (well, about 3 items are, but the rest were well researched before buying).
Some of the more expensive items are a GPS unit, 2 tents and a bivy, cold-weather clothes, backpack, and sleeping bag.
Part of the reason, I know, is because quality backpacking gear is grossly expensive. I even bought, probably, about half of those items at discount, and a few of them are used.
I just wanted to share.. I'm not sure why. But, I am wondering, what are you heavily invested in?
