Tek7 (Legacy)
CGA & ToJ President
My fingers are already a little cramped from typing up the first Barriers and Bypasses thread, so I'll try to keep this one brief.
As with the post on the Christian Gamers Alliance forum, I have decided to clearly state what tasks I will and will not take on as I consider the future of Tribe of Judah.
- Tribe of Judah will not be established as a non-profit organization until we have the necessary staff in place and dedicated to set up and maintain such an entity. I believe Plankeye can fill you in on the amount of work necessary to do so. Please note that the Sponsor Information Package Project will not proceed until we have our NPO status. We will also be unable to rent any more game servers unless they are donated by members. NPO status is essential to ToJ's future growth.
- No new chapters will be established unless they are first fully staffed. If I conclude that there is insufficient activity within a chapter within the first month of its establishment, it will be set as inactive.
- Tribe of Judah will not be forming a Natural Selection competition team unless someone undertakes all responsibility involved in such an endeavor. (Ouch, that one stings.)
- The same goes for all other competition teams, including one for Unreal Tournament 2004: Onslaught.
- The following chapters will be shut down in the next 30 days if not "revived:" Quake 3, Battlefield 1942, Age of Kings, Jedi Knight II, Medal of Honor, Neverwinter Nights, Tetrinet.
- I will not be designing new graphics for our online store products.
- I will not be revising the Tribe of Judah charter. I would like to pick this up at a later date, but for now, I would like Council members to look this document over, suggest changes, and edit it after I approve the changes.
I think that covers the first section nicely. Now, where would I like to see ToJ go in the coming months?
- More emphasis on Scripture and our common faith.
- More efforts toward "partnership" with parents of members.
- More encouragement for members to join and get involved with local churches.
- A solid Counter-Strike competition team that completes a full season of CAL.
- Growth in our Unreal Tournament chapter. The foundation is there and Shagz has taken the first few steps to forming an awesome community for UT players. This game is popular enough now that there's no reason this chapter shouldn't be growing exponentially.
- More members helping Plankeye build the ToJ web site.
- More initiative and responsibility among ToJ leadership. I trust the staff I've put into place. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. If you do, believe me, I'll let you know--but in an encouraging way.
- A full staff with no gaps whatsoever. Phew, wouldn't that be nice?
- More Council members and more activity among Council members.
- Regular activity in the Starcraft chapter. Sure, the game is seven years old, but it's still the best RTS out there. ToJ started as a Starcraft clan, so I have a special place for this chapter in my heart.
- More readiness to replace inactive staff and more members available and dedicated to serve as staff.
Phew. The list is already pretty long. Go ahead and start the discussion and I'll add on to the thread and reply soon.
EDIT: Almost forgot: If you're interested in taking on any of the responsibilities or projects listed in this post, please contact both me and Rizz via e-mail at tek7 AT toj DOT cc and rizz AT toj DOT cc.
