Game Outage

I was doing an Oro run today and one of the guys in my team said his guildmate told him there was a bug at the Rune Trader and you could buy Superior Absorption runes for 250 gp. I didn't even respond......thinking this was hogwash. Apparently it wasn't.

Shortly after that 2 of our group left. The remainder of us went back to War Camp. I tried to go to Lion's Arch and the game would not let me. I tried Ascalon City and Amnoon Oasis with the same results.

Now the game will not let me log on. Apparently all the trader items (ectos, shards, runes) were selling for 250gp. I imagine the few who were able to cash in on this will be popular fellows in their respective guilds. It will be interesting to see Anet's response to this.

Just wanted to let you know what was happening in case the outage persists for a while.
 
yeah noticed the game outage we are just sitting here on the TS channel wishing were playing Guild Wars but having fun chatting!!
 
Oh no! It better get up and running in time for tonight's PvP! My husband had a very tiring weekend and was really looking forward to relaxing and killing things. :)

Or how about black dye for 250 gp? :)

I wonder if you could sell it back for full price...
 
Straight from GuildWars.com, can't even get into the main site. Looks like it's gonna be 11:30 EST (8:30 for you West Coast folks) before we can play again.

Due to a server error, Guild Wars experienced an unintentional reset of the traders. For nearly an hour, traders were selling items at unrealistically low prices. Due to the harmful impact that such an event would cause to the game economy, we are rolling back the entire state of the game to shortly before the problem began, that is, to 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time, 21:00 GMT. We estimate that the game will be accessible at approximately 8:30 p.m. PST tonight (04:30 GMT).

They're resetting the game to before the glitch as a fix... anyone who got anything during that time, will lose it. Whether it was related to the glitch or not. Sort of like closing without saving.
 
Well, we're going to Waffle House. Maybe GW will actually be up again when we get back...

Not that I can play. I have to make sixty mini books by Saturday!

Should be back up within the next half hour. Just checked it, though, still can't connect. :(

In the meantime, that female gamer article thing MM posted made me want to play Illusion of Gaia again! That is SUCH a great game.
It's funny, I've got this fascination with the Incan Empire; I just find them reallly cool, and I think that game is what got me started on that. :D

EDIT: Argh! Now they're saying 11pm PST! No GW for us East-coasters tonight I guess.

Incas were pretty cool, too bad the Spaniards and conquistadors wiped them out almost before working them to death in their own silver and other mineral mines...
