I would like to introduce myself. My name is Rob, and I am 34/m and live in Ontario, Canada. I live in a small town, and there isn't much chance for me to meet Christian gamers, so I thought I would try online!
I don't like the use of magic in games. One game that had potential was "The Minstrel's Song" by Jonathan Hayward. It is a "roguelike" which was based on a Christian world that Mr. Hayward made up! Unfortunately, it had too many bugs and wasn't refined enough. I had to run VMware and use Fedora Core to get it to run! I am looking for Christian muds, or rpgs without magic or psychic powers which could be Christian or non-Christian. Science fiction rpgs without psychic powers would suit me well. I don't mind paying for them. Suggestions are definitely welcome, because Christmas is just around the corner!
I think Civ 4: Colonization is a good game, but it requires me to do too much micromanaging to play properly online! I also have played the Sim City series, including Simcity 4, and I am going to get around to playing "City Life" sometime. Also, I like 4x space strategy games, such as the Master of Orion series (especially MOO 2) and Galactic Civilization 2. I have played games like Imperialism 1 and imperialism 2, but they are older.
I have never tried a pbem game, but am willing to try one if it is an rpg with a Christian theme.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks
Rob
