Apple updated its iPod line yesterday:
- The 30 GB iPod dropped from $299 to $249
- Apple bumped the 60 GB model to 80 GB
- Both models have brighter screens, longer battery life
- All existing and new iPod 5G can also play games like Bejeweled, Zuma, Mini Golf, Tetris, Pac-Man (among others) for $4.99 off the iTunes Store
- The iPod nano got an upgrade, available in 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB models (with the same pricing)
- Available in five different colors
- Thinner, brighter, and compatible with Nike + iPod
- The iPod shuffle was completely reworked as well, see the iPod shuffle site for a size comparison.
So, some pretty neat updates for iPod owners.
Also, iTunes was updated to iTunes 7. There are so many great features, it's hard for me to write them all out, but here are a few big ones:
- CoverFlow View. No explanation necessary
- It gets missing album art for you for free
- It can back up your library (including purchased music) with ease
- Video playback is much, MUCH improved
- Downloaded videos are now in 640x480 instead of 320x240 (or whatever it was)
This is probably the best iTunes update yet. Get it here.
Also, Apple announced iTV. It's not on Apple's website yet, but read the quick synopsis on Wikipedia.
Here's a link to the Apple Store, in case anyone's interested in "checking prices".
(To those who do these things [vibrokatana], please do not de-rail this thread by putting an anti-Mac or anti-PC slant on it. All topics discussed in this post PC and Mac compatible.)
