Tek7 (Legacy)
CGA & ToJ President
Check it out, y'all, from Exodus 18:
A little more venting and I'll get to the main point of this post, promise:
I'm 26 now. I've been leading Tribe of Judah for over seven years. I'm married. I work a part-time job during the day. I write articles for a local newspaper. I'm finally getting back to my writing, after slacking for so long. I have a few ideas for some short films and it's heavy on my heart to start setting them to paper.
In short, I'm finding more and more of my life outside the computer. I still love ToJ, and I'm still going to lead it, but it's plain to see that I need more help if I'm going to keep on truckin' without getting a flat.
Okay, now the main point:
I've got a solid staff for handling the day-to-day operations of ToJ. We've got some great chapters, we (and by "we" I mean astrod00d) handle member applications quickly, and our new web site, courtesy of SirThom, is going to be awesome sauce. We've got the basics covered. What we are lacking are staff members to develop new chapters, further develop ministry efforts, and handle conflicts when they arise.
Toward that end, I have a few "rough sketch" ideas for new staff positions:
As many of you may have picked up from my recent requests for prayer regarding my and my wife's finances, I'm going through a stressful season in my life. I can't dedicate as much time to Tribe of Judah as I would like. And in light of recent events, I think it's wise for me to start appointing more staff and to delegate more responsibility. The next day Moses took his seat to serve as judge for the people, and they stood around him from morning till evening. 14 When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he said, "What is this you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge, while all these people stand around you from morning till evening?"
15 Moses answered him, "Because the people come to me to seek God's will. 16 Whenever they have a dispute, it is brought to me, and I decide between the parties and inform them of God's decrees and laws."
17 Moses' father-in-law replied, "What you are doing is not good. 18 You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone. 19 Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people's representative before God and bring their disputes to him. 20 Teach them the decrees and laws, and show them the way to live and the duties they are to perform. 21 But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. 22 Have them serve as judges for the people at all times, but have them bring every difficult case to you; the simple cases they can decide themselves. That will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you. 23 If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied."
24 Moses listened to his father-in-law and did everything he said. 25 He chose capable men from all Israel and made them leaders of the people, officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. 26 They served as judges for the people at all times. The difficult cases they brought to Moses, but the simple ones they decided themselves.

Toward that end, I have a few "rough sketch" ideas for new staff positions:
- Conflict Mediator. Detects and puts out fires before they start. If necessary, brings the Fire Truck of Mediation (+5 resistance against Fire) to flame wars. In short, he or she helps people work things out.
- Staff Manager. Right now, when a person joins ToJ staff, it adds about six or seven items to my tasklist. The Staff Manager would be in charge of all that stuff, so I could just point to somebody, say, "Make 'em staff!" and the Staff Manager does the rest. This would help me get more staff in place more quickly and also free up more time for other endeavors.
- New Chapter Researcher. Lame name, I know, but I'll probably change it. This person would handle all the research involved in deciding which games get selected for new chapters.
- Real-time Strategy Section Leader. I haven't forgotten about this one. I've just been sidetracked. For a few months.
