Tell ya what though, the game is very enjoyable. Don't knock it till ya try it.
First half of the single player isn't that much of a change from the first game, got me kinda disappointed. It begins to ramp up, throws in a few sweet plot twists, and felt like The Rock at a few points. It's a roller coaster all right.
Spec Ops is unique and varied with missions, only played a few with my younger brother. The one player as helicopter gunner + 2nd player buddy on the ground was a pretty sweet level for sure.
Multiplayer felt tighter, cleaner, and fresher. Gone are the days of triple frag grenade spam and juggernaut (which is now a timed deathstreak). With so many cool alternatives (sticky grenade, respawn flare, insta-kill throwing knife which you can pick up from the dead body, blast helmet good against explosives), it's hard for me to choose a normal frag grenade. The "cheaper" perks like Last Stand or Martyrdom (also a deathstreak now) are WAY further in the levels. The ability to shoot down UAVs (which I'm notorious for now ;P) is so much fun and rewarding. I was burned out on the PC's COD4/WaW's online, but here, I can feel the changes are for the better and compel me to play without feeling like a nub. Only issue I had was when the host was lagging, the whole server felt it. Or team being unbalanced half-way through. Otherwise, the matchmaking is quick and snappy. No qualms here, folks. If you're sucking at the game (like I was getting used to the controls), these deathstreaks are a
great idea. Helps me get back in the game without feeling frustrated. Oh, some of the 30~50 weapons can even have a heartbeat monitor, good against those crafty ninjas.
Then again, this is for the
PS3 version.
I wouldn't touch the PC one with a 10 foot corndog (or even a breakfast one for that matter). Was tired of hackers and aimbots all the time.
