Actually, there are still plans for a Republic guild, even though I've removed the former Republic guild leader from Tribe of Judah staff for inactivity. (His last forum activity was back in April.)There is not an official ToJ one however. I am sure there is room for one but it will scatter the playerbase even more...
I've since undeleted those threads and removed his moderator privileges (since he was removed from ToJ staff for inactivity). He dropped a year ago. Deleted every post related to it.
While I have already applied for CFD, I would entertain the idea of heading up a Republic guild (preferably eastern). I ran a guild in EQ when they started a diety pvp server. I'm 55 years old and have been online gaming with my family since UO (well assuming you don't count the original Diablo). I work from home providing MRI technical support. I am typically able to stay logged in the majority of the daytime, though the time is typically spent crafting and such. I typically get to quest and play late evenings. Consequently, a west coast server isn't completely out of the question.
I certainly appreciate the cleverness of CFD conceptually. However, is there another reason for playing the Sith? I know that one can focus on lightside points versus darkside. But, does that translate into a skill set that is ostensibly Sith but aligned with the Republic similar to EQ2 defections? In other words, can you be a Sith good guy? And, does that make you KOS with the Empire?

Grim,
I have no problem with playing a Sith. I was simply curious as to what possible advantage there could be in doing so. In EQ, I played a Halfling Bruiser and defected from Freeport to Qeynos. I liked the skill set of the Bruiser.
From a purely RP perspective, I don't recall any "good" Empire folk in the SW series. The Empire was based more upon the Roman culture where such things as compassion and mercy were considered evil... not bad... not distasteful... but evil. That's why they considered the Christians barbarians.
I always thought of the Republic as well meaning if nothing more. Yea, the Jedi were stern legalistic sticks in the mud. But, they did what they did with compassion... at least that was my take. It would seem that if all classes are balanced, and considering a slight majority are expected to play on the Dark Side, playing Republic might just be a standout position... especially for a large guild.
That being said, "playing" a Sith or other Imperial is simply that... playing. Please dont take any of this as an atempt to sway one way or the other.
