Those who shut their ears to the cries of the poor will be ignored in their own time of need. Proverbs 21:13 (NLT)

If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? 1 John 3:17 (NLT)

Who are you helping?

Listen to the words of the wise; apply your heart to my instruction. For it is good to keep these sayings in your heart and always ready on your lips. Proverbs 22:17-18 (NLT)

In your heart and on your lips...

6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
Pro 22:6

For all us parents out there.

Proverbs 22:11 said:
11. He who loves a pure heart and whose speech is gracious will have the king for his friend.

In order to love a pure heart you have to have one. In order to have gracious speech you must have a pure heart. (See Proverbs 27:19) Your heart reflects who you are as a person.

Proverb 21: 23 Watch your words and hold your tongue;
you'll save yourself a lot of grief.

Proverbs 22: 6 Point your kids in the right direction—
when they're old they won't be lost.

but, it may be a bumpy road getting there

Proverbs 22: 29 Observe people who are good at their work—
skilled workers are always in demand and admired;
they don't take a backseat to anyone.

now, that is some good advice to follow.

Proverbs 23: 15-16 Dear child, if you become wise,
I'll be one happy parent.
My heart will dance and sing
to the tuneful truth you'll speak.

Amen, amen and Amen to this

Don’t eat with people who are stingy; don’t desire their delicacies. They are always thinking about how much it costs. “Eat and drink,” they say, but they don’t mean it. Proverbs 23:6-7 (NLT)

Stingy people are tough to be around.

Proverbs 23:17 said:
Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord.

Its hard not to envy people who seem to get away with everything, however we mustn't, envy leads to bitterness and a plethora of other issues. Stay Zealous and search out the Lord instead.

Proverbs 24:5 said:
A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength

Doesn't this just make you want to stand tall? Its like the ultimate way to be a super hero. :D Power and Strength, and it all comes form the Lord!

Proverbs 24:30-31 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

Entropy is one of the most fundamental laws of the fallen world, but also one of the most often ignored. Everything decays, though, if not properly attended to, from health to relationships to material possessions to even our walk with the Lord. We must keep ourselves alert and diligent in taking care of things that are our responsibility to take care of, or they will inevitably fall apart.

The person who's always cooking up some evil soon gets a reputation as prince of rogues. Proverbs 24:8 (MSG)

One title you DON'T want to carry.

Proverbs 25:11 A word spoken at the right time
is like golden apples on a silver tray.

Sometimes, though, it is hard to know when that right time is. But, if we trust that the Lord will lead us, then He will make it known to us.

Don’t demand an audience with the king or push for a place among the great. It’s better to wait for an invitation to the head table than to be sent away in public disgrace. Proverbs 25:6-7 (NLT)

Jesus taught the same thing in Luke 14:7-11

21 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.
Pro 25:21

Proverbs 25:15 By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.

Sometimes we get frustrated with authorities in our lives. Disagreements happen and can be greatly aggravated if someone justifies their actions based solely on their position of power rather than heeding the scriptural admonitions to seek out, identify, and carefully consider wise counsel from others, and then anger naturally follows when it is felt that incorrect actions hurt more people than just the one responsible for them.

But God doesn't call us to follow the natural path in this situation, but the completely opposite and probably the hardest and least desireable path of long forbearance instead. An angry man can be easily dismissed however right or wrong he may be, but patient forbearance in a disagreement can only come from God because it is so unnatural to the heart of man, so it will eventually have to be taken seriously.

Like snow in summer or rain in harvest, honor is not fitting for a fool. Proverbs 26:1 (NIV)

Is this the Bibles version of "a snowball's chance in hell"?

Proverbs 26:6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.

You will always regret trusting someone of questionable integrity with something important to you. Likewise, you should also want to keep your integrity beyond question yourself so someone else doesn't have to regret trusting you.

Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron,
and one man sharpens another.

I think we don't appreciate this as often as we should. When a brother or sister in Christ tries to help us grow, the assistance is brushed off as meddling
